Here's a catch-22 for you - the rampant lawlessness demonstrated by many of our "finest" in blue has led to such a level of frustration that people like the representative are willing to go to unreasonable lengths to combat the issue.

Of course, if they really wanted to fix the problem,they'd start with the root cause that there are too many power-hungry bullies on the police force ("Only Ones" indeed!), but that would cause much more political trouble for them than obviously harebrained schemes like this.

Her proposal will be defeated, but she can claim that she at least "tried to do something".

Tactically it is stupid. However, the NYPD has brought it on itself with all the police murders of innocents, unarmed people and bystanders. If they don't like it, let them quit. We would all be better off if they had no cover for their thuggery.
