I have one thing to say:
“If anyone ever finds a firearm anywhere please immediately contact the police and work with us to arrange safe disposal. In the wrong hands the consequences can be disastrous."
And, of course, we get to decide who has the right hands.

At least those classic WWII arms were donated to a museum, and not out-and-out destroyed. THERE would have been the shame and the sin.

That is why if I EVER find a gun no one will ever hear about it. It isn't that I wouldn't want to return it to whoever lost it (as long as they are a legitimate gun owner and not a cop), but it is too risky to report a found gun anymore.
