We're the Only Ones Exerting Pier Pressure Enough

An off-duty sheriff's deputy is under investigation for allegedly firing a gun on the crowded Redondo Beach pier during an argument with his girlfriend. [More]
I know that pier well. It used to be a walk from our house. We've patronized many of the places there, for years, including the restaurant mentioned in this story. We've taken the kids there many times, always seeming to wind up in the Fun Factory arcade.

And then you have this stupid bastard endangering families because--because what, he's a frickin' armed headcase with a badge?

Good luck trying to get a carry permit if you live in Redondo. Only "Only Ones" can be trusted there. You're at their mercy.

His psycho mug shot sure looked familiar, inspiring a "separated at birth" insight:

They'll see and they'll know and they'll say "Why he wouldn't even harm a fly."

What separates Ca, Nj,Ny, Ma, etc from other states, politically? Many people in California obviously have a great hatred of freedom in general. Why is that? It can't be attributed to population density alone. Florida, Georgia, La, Tx, NH, WA, etc have huge urban populations too, yet more freedom and much more gun freedom.

Dumb question from someone after the era of black and white photos - who's the guy on the right?
