Who's Pressing?

FAA Pressed to Allow Drone Flights in U.S.

Demand to Open Domestic Airspace to Pilotless Crafts Surges from Commercial, Law Enforcement Interests [More]
Yo, CBS/AP "Authorized Journalists":
Now the pressure's on...

The Federal Aviation Administration has been asked...
I can envision many legitimate uses. I can envision many scary ones.

It's the latter we need real names for.

Who is pressuring?

And why?

Probably the CBP. They are using them along the border.

Seeing as they claim 100 miles inland from the border as their land, where they are free to ignore the Constitution, that's probably what this is about.

I'd guess a 100 mile swath from the border will be declared a military operations area and closed to general aviation...has to happen since drones don't follow vfr flight rules and will not see and avoid other aircraft.
Too many unforeseen (by those who came up with this) consequences on this one.

Anything the American people accept for use against the enemy in war WILL eventually find itself used against the people themselves.
The government loves mission creep.
The evening news says the electronic transponder antennas or whatever which are built into enhanced U.S. passports are made in **Thailand** and vulnerable to tampering.
WTF are they doing offshoring vital "national security assets" like that? Almost as if they PLANNED catastrphic failure. Hey, that woul enable ratcheting-up of increased domestic security measures... like armed drone aircraft!
Remember when special passport requirements were just for FOREIGNERS?

The prison is not complete without drones.
