We're the Only Ones Facing Death Enough

Four police officers are accused of gunning down two unarmed people in the chaotic aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in the latest twist for a corruption-plagued police department that already faces several federal investigations.

The four officers could face the death penalty. [More]
So if they're found guilty, does that mean the victims would have been justified in defending themselves by firing back, and killing their attackers if necessary?

In spite of anything Bill O'Reilly might have to say about it?

Mayor Fenty refused the loan of commercial buses that could have evacuated hundreds, and school buses were allowed to be submerged. Then his cops grab guns from people nowhere near the flooding. Then his cops shoot people trying to leave the city on foot. They were making Fenty's socialist kingdom look bad for the cameras.

Of course it means they would have been justified in shooting these cops. I really do foresee the time when any approach by any cop is considered a lethal threat and they are shot at until the "threat is stopped".

Unfortunately, that will be punished by other cops and courts, unless and until they become viewed as the lethal threats they are to the ordinary citizen.

This war cannot be avoided. There are too many stupidly arrogant people on the wrong side of the issue who believe they can kill anybody they want to for any reason they want and that they will suffer no consequences. Because there are too many stupidly arrogant people sitting on benches and populating DA's offices who have traditionally protected them.

The day is coming when their existence is viewed as a lethal threat to all innocents everywhere.

Quote from news story:

"Put simply, we will not tolerate wrongdoing by those who are sworn to protect the public," Attorney General Eric Holder said Tuesday in New Orleans.

Okay. Now let's reopen the Waco investigation. The BATF and FBI sure as hell didn't seen too overly concerned about protecting the public in that incident. If my memory serves me right, seems like Holder might need to answer for some wrongdoing connected with Waco.

I also seem to remember that there is no statute of limitations for criminal homicide in the State of Texas.

I like it, Mr. Woodward. Or are they keeping the records sealed for 50 years until all the bad actors are dead, as in the Kennedy assassination report?
They count on most people just being glad it wasn't them and not looking too closely. That's how tyranny takes hold: intimidation.
I realize I put DC's mayor in New Orleans. These dictators are interchangeable.
