72 citizens of Brazil, Honduras, Ecuador and El Salvador killed. The Honduran survivor had paid $15,000 to be smuggled across the bordered. The Zetas, not knowing that he had survived the mass murder, contacted the survivor's parents in the U.S. to tell them that he had crossed into the U.S. successfully.

A Brazilian diplomat opined that this is the first time this has happened - that he knows of.

I guess you just can't trust members of murderous drug cartels like you used to.

Tragic and disgusting. Some people plumb the very depths of evil.
This lucrative sideline for the cartels and the independent "coyotes" (people smugglers) is 100% profit if they accept the money but don't have to provide any service because the customer is dead.
Our government forces people to deal with these soulless types to obtain Prohibited drugs, and then turns around and wants to scan us and our vehicles for drugs and illegal immigrants.
It's seamless.

Doubtless, the poor bastards were actually just wanting to get some of those full auto assault rifles, grenades, RPGs and mortars that they heard about at the US gunshows.
