The Wrong Place to Shoplift

See, if we didn't have those mean old gun shows, this would never have happened.

They certainly do allow some unsavory punks into those places at times, don't they?

Here, we've had two cases of people driving stolen trucks through the walls of gun shops at night and looting them. And yes, people complain that the guns are "easily available" that way.
As long as guns are legally for sale, THEY will complain.
If this trucker had been a city type, he'd probably know where to get stolen guns for cheap. But cheap still isn't free.
Sounds like most kleptomaniacs asking to get caught, or a paid plant by our opposition to demonstrate a threat that is after all negligible. But they're willing to burn down the forest to get rid of the termites.

Man, I haven't heard Garen Wintemute's name in years.

He's a medical doctor, an emergency room specialist, which means he's mostly un- or underemployed. There are only a few hospitals that offer enough employment to pay for a full time MD in their ER.

So, with little to nothing to do, Wintemute turned to working for gun control and gun confiscation advocacy. He's ginned up a number of meaningless "studies", for example he found that a gun was involved where victims had received gun shot wound, and a couple of other.

I dare say that his MD degree is not longer used at all and his only source of income today is from suckers at the Brady Campaign or the appropriately named Violence Policy Center. Even they may have cut him off today.
