Due Process

The killing was a shocking end for a notoriously brutal man who had terrorized the area for years with seeming impunity from the law until he was struck down in a moment of vigilante justice. [More]
If people can't get justice and protection from official or private tyranny any other way, don't be surprised when they "take the law into their own hands."

What did Mr. Kennedy say?

It might be fair to ask whose law is it, anyway?

I'd say the entire town sat as a jury and ruled the result of the shooting as justifiable.

Works for me.

I can't believe his lawyer didn't share his fate. He's the one that made the repeat offenses possible.

Used to live near there. Wasn't there when it happened, but folks in them parts give you the idea they mean what they say. If you're lookin' for trouble, you won't find it scarce in those parts.

Looks to me that the SoB got overdue process. The law should serve to protect the oppressed not the oppressor. And, served pretty well in this instance.

Notoriously brutal. Seeming impunity.
Defending the innocent is not "vigilantism." It is humanity.
See what people can accomplish when they work together?
