Even the statists at the Baker Inst. put the lie on the US guns fuel Mex mayhem stories.

"The vast majority of the weaponry used in this "drug war" comes into Mexico through the black market and the wide-open, porous southern border of Mexico and Guatemala.
Thank you!

The Guatemalan government has imposed martial law on the region adjoining Mexico. Not too familiar with Guatemala, but if they're anything like Mexico, expect the good guys to take it in the shorts and the cartels to enjoy token shows of official resistance and lots of under-the-table bribery meetings.

In addition to Guatemala and other sources I wonder just how many firearms, grenades, military equipment in general etc. supplied by the U.S. gubmint falls into other than official hands in Mexico? I am reasonably certain that the u.s. is giving millions if not billions to the Mexican government to interdict the drug trafficking. Exactly what form this aid takes I don't know. If anyone out there does, I wish you would comment. Federales I've seen are armed with the M4. The Mexican army with the G3. The fact is, the totalitarian parasites want to blame u.s. gun laws as another pretext to destroy the 2nd amendment. The drug cartels have no problem getting weapons from sources other than the u.s. domestic market. To say anything else is a lie and has a sinister motive.
