GRE Round Up for May 5

There's some good stuff being turned out by the Gun Rights Examiners. I hope you're availing yourself of it, and importantly, sharing these links via emails, on blogs and forums, with your local newspaper editor, etc.

A common complaint is media bias and absence of representation for "our side."

These people work hard to change that and ask for nothing from those of us their labors serve other than to help spread the word. I hope no one thinks that's too much to ask.

Here are their latest offerings:

Ed Stone/Atlanta:
Two gun bills on Georgia Governor's desk

Anthony Bouchard/Cheyenne:

Open Letter to Ted Nugent - "The Day I'll Join the NRA"

Daniel White/Cleveland:
Newark City Council backing down on illegal gun ban

Dan Bidstrup/Denver:
Brady Campaign: Let's talk

Rob Reed/Detroit:
Steve D. Jones/Fort Smith:
Oklahoma legislature passes Open Carry bill

Dave Workman/Seattle:
Bloomberg (naturally) focuses on terror suspect’s firearm

Kurt Hofmann/St. Louis:
'Enforce existing gun laws' means enforcing defenselessness in Illinois

Chris Woodard/Tucson:
Just how Unconstitutional is Barack Obama?

Go. Read. And please share these links.

You're doing that, right?

Senate Terrorism Hearing Gives Gun Grabbers Propaganda Forum

Here's a follow-up to the story we discussed earlier today. I some things I want to share with you but not much structured commentary--I haven't had time to go through most of this stuff myself, but wanted to bring it to you asap. [More]
Thus today's second Gun Rights Examiner post.

It's our job to make sure these creatures go down in history as traitors.

Construed By Anyone

"The policy is if a tattoo can be construed by anyone as being gang-related or racially biased, then we can't accept them."[More]
By anyone?

You might want to tell this guy he's no longer welcome.

It's Not About Oil, It's About Freedom

We the People are more easily controlled in a more stationary position. [More]
Interesting look at the liberating effects of oil...which naturally explains why those in power will control it.

I didn't know that about New York brownstones...

We're the Only Ones Intolerant Enough

Yeah, I know the kidnapping is what's on everyone's minds, but here's what caught my eye:
Guglielmi said Police Commissioner Frederick H. Bealefeld III was disturbed by the allegations and "will not tolerate any behavior that undermines the integrity of the agency."
Coming from anti-Second Amendment oathbreakers, that's rich.

And Now a Word from NRA Lobbyist Todd Vandermyde

An attempt to save face by trying to put people illegally carrying a firearm in jail. Something we have advocated for a long time. [More]
So...Toddster...that time I "illegally" saved my family in California...NRA's position is I should have been arrested by "Only Ones"? Or that I shouldn't have had the means of defense in the first place, so being here to disagree with you would be a moot point?

Exactly how is your position different than that of my bitterest enemies?

And what's with the "D" grade for "assault weapon" ban author Mark Kirk? Playing the game, are we, so he comes off looking "better" than the other guy? I'm informed the most current grade is an "F" and the link used here is dated.

How Not to Get Shot By Police

Let's see, being in your own home, being unarmed and even wearing a uniform don't seem to help...

Gabe Suarez has some stuff that might work...[Read]

We're the Only Ones Reenacting "The Yearling" Enough

Hey, at least Flag was eating the dang corn crop...[Read]

My favorite line:
A total of six or seven shots were fired but it was not known how many hit the deer.
Maybe I've picked the wrong classic novel here...

We're the Only Ones "A Few Bad Apples" Enough

10,000+ South African Cops In Jail [More]
Which is why we must step up measures to ensure that they're the "Only Ones"...

It's like a damn sick joke, isn't it?

RCMP Official Defends Gun Registry

Of course he does. [Read]

He's not that dumb of a parasite that he's going to foul his own trough.

Although for some reason it wouldn't surprise me if he'd added "Don't worry, Nell, I'LL save you!"

And then bungled the job.

Praxis: Extra Socks

From time to time I post updates from The Survivalist and I note Mike and WRSA give gear and prep tips on occasion, so I'd like to pass on something shared with me by my Dad, who was a Marine on Guam, a tip passed on to him from his older brother who was a Marine on Guadalcanal:

Cram a couple extra pairs of socks in with your gear.

I know it's a small thing, but those are what we often overlook, and it can be the little things that get you. Think for want of a nail.

And these guys knew what they were talking about.

If you'd like to virtually experience a simulation of what they survived, with the caveat that there was no director to yell "Cut!" so everyone could line up at the catering tent or check their Droids, catch HBO's "The Pacific."

Crash and Burn?

Everybody realizes how serious that will be, right? [Read]

We're the Only Ones in the City of Brotherly Love Enough

Police say two other people were also shot. A 26-year-old woman was shot in the leg and an 18-year-old man received a graze wound...

"Not only did he shoot my son once, he stood over him and kept shooting him," said the Williams' mother Diane. "If he's already down, why keep shooting him?"...

"Mr. Gary pulled his gun on my brother before," said sister Alice Walker. "So, this is not a new incident. It was supposed to be taken care of the first time." [More]
Consider it taken care of.

Tell me his superiors and co-workers didn't know exactly what he's like.

Little-Publicized Senate Panel to Demand Disarming Legally Innocent Under Guise of Fighting Terror

A Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Government Affairs hearing will be held today to explore denying guns to people the government suspects of terror activity. [More]
Today's Gun Rights Examiner column looks at the usual terror suspects when it comes to being real enemies of the Republic and notes that old watchdog media seems to be barking at anything but the approaching threat.

Also find out what California's domestic enemies are doing to ensure public defenselessness and link up to my appearance today on Trigger Sports LIVE!

I hope you recognize the importance of spreading the word on today's hearings and share the link far and wide.

This Day in History: May 5

It having pleased the Almighty ruler of the Universe propitiously to defend the Cause of the United American-States and finally by raising us up a powerful Friend among the Princes of the Earth to establish our liberty and Independence up lasting foundations, it becomes us to set apart a day for gratefully acknowledging the divine Goodness and celebrating the important Event which we owe to his benign Interposition.
