Eminent Domain

I bring this story to your attention for a couple reasons:

First, it involves one of the markets we shop at.

Second, because the career mayor involved led a local pre-election Tea Party rally, and I deemed him a fraud then because of his working the crowd to cheer for  Dead Elephant Party gungrabbers like new OH AG Mike De[s]Wine.

Frickin' Teajackers.

"Carr said taking land from the south side of Graham Road [where there's apparently plenty of emptiness to work with] would cost an estimated $395,000 to $400,000 — money the city
would have to pay."

So instead they're going to destroy the character of a successful business. A tax-paying business. A business which may consequently go OUT of business, as so many have in this economy, adding to blight, unemployment and misery.
You called it correctly, David. How they feel about gun rights is how they feel about rights, period.

Don Robart has always chosen the state as a tool, his cronies, his pocket, and his "legacy" over anything and everyone. Thought he was a loud-mouth ass since I met him in the 80's and opinion has not changed.
