Issa silence on ‘Project Gunwalker’ enabled by NRA inaction

In the week when CBS News aired two follow-ups to its groundbreaking “Gunwalker” reporting, including an on-camera interview with a whistleblowing agent and a phone interview with Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry’s sister, in a week when The Los Angeles Times ran the story on its front page, and the story has been picked up by CNN, the BBC…

...NRA issues a nationwide “alert” to its members that mentions not a word of any of this, let alone any call to action. [More]
Today's Gun Rights Examiner column demands leadership from those who claim to be our leaders.

The NRA's nightmare would be to lose the ATF as a selling point to scare old gun owners into sending them money.
"Self serving" isn't harsh enough when used in the same breath as, NRA.
This is just another example why I refuse to re-join that group.

The NRA seems to be afraid of rapidly becoming as irrelevant as the NAACP.

No worry. If the NRA's staff would remember to occasionally read the letterhead on its ILA site and act like they believe it.

Because; in the event ATF is totally destroyed and all its personnel are relegated to "feeding lunch to inmates in the Maricopa County jail", statist collectivist elitist power hungry gun grabbers will still be stalking our unalienable rights.

Somebody a damn sight smarter than me once said something to the effect that, "Eternal vigilance is the price we must be willing to pay for our liberties."

Boss, when you do that, you're demanding that an overfed, ignorant, fud factory do it's job, when it lost the ability and the reason for that, a long time ago.

My hunch is the NRA is working on some kind of spin that allows them to play both sides at the same time. A safe bet is, they are hoping this matter will go away.
When the issue of gun shows and Mexican drug gangs was making some headlines. The NRA was making some statements on the topic, that they were out to protect our rights. Now the ATF has been busted breaking the law to manufacture traces to get new gun laws, power and money for themselves at the cost of rights and money to the members of the NRA. The NRA no longer shows any interest in this matter any longer. Talk about ATF being self serving at anyl cost. That MO is spot on the same MO being used by the NRA. Clearly, there is no reason on this earth that justifies the NRA not having been on this Gunwalker issue with a full head of steam.
