I just took the class, and they advise that you should 1)evacuate (even leaving behind those who can't or won't leave on their own - maybe like small children and invalids?), 2) hide (don't forget to silence your cell phone) and 3) as a last resort, try to incapacitate the shooter by:
a. throwing things at him
b. acting aggressively
c. yelling
d. commit to your actions.

They are completely stupid. It reminds me of Demolition Man: Repeat the order, and add the words "Or else."

Part of the planning phase includes "Foster a respectful workplace."

Don't forget: Dodge, dip, duck, dive, and dodge. No matter what, do not use a gun to defend yourself. Leave that to the professionals.
