Civil asset forfeiture is one of the few remaining resources of revenue enhancement for local/state governments. The feds can seize precious metals (done it before: Exec. order still in place), pension funds( Harkin already held a senate hearing on this)and Heaven knows what else. The locals a stuck with real property as the only sizable reservoir of value that they can tap into.
We were warned about this years ago. Imagine where we will be. Yup, squeeze harder: it's all good.
