The police in New Jersey are the largest source of illegal firearms in that state. I know this because close family members were police officers. Their heirs had firearms STOLEN by other police officers who were "friends" of the deceased and basically confiscated the guns from the heirs. My cousin's collection was worth about $10,000. His neice, the ultimate heir, was unlawfully deprived of those guns or the money from their sale.
The NJ State police have always been known as "the triangle gang" (from their uniform patch) and are the best organized, best armed and best dressed street gang in New Jersey.
