The Best Reporting on Guns in America [More

I wouldn't even call it the best anti-gun propaganda, since what they're highlighting is obvious and transparent hooey, and note the two stories related to Gunwalker are Eban's "Fortune" piece and one from the Gray Lady milking the 90% meme for all its worth.

But it serves their purpose to promote these.

Just look at the list of luminaries behind the claim: Privileged elites all. Their "journalism advisory board" list is topped by "Jill Abramson, executive editor, The New York Times."

Make no mistake: Establishment media is not about to go gentle into that good night, and well-financed efforts like this are designed to dominate the public discourse.

I read Jill Lepore's fantasy, and it was the same old lies and subtle denigrations of gun owners. "Guns are bad, gun owners evil, inbred rednecks, and gun grabbers are the only ones who are intelligent enough and good enough to do something about it", yada, yada yada.

She did come up with a new twist, though. she wrote that the individual right interpretation is a new, made-up idea, and that in Colonial days, we stored our guns in armories. What is this about the people keeping their firearms in armories, and going to get them? And did many kept their guns at home, while others stored them at the armory? I can't believe that people on the frontier would store their guns at some far-off place in town, when they might need them right frickin' now.

Seems to me she's the one making stuff up.
