Even here in the liberal PNW, such an action would likely get a guy shot, and it would be justifiable. That Bannerman guy is a nutjob.

Hell, he's a Torie! He's truly anit-American. And pro-Tarleton...you know, the British commander that raped and burned across the Southern states....
He just got a bad rap because he was on the losing side.
Someone wearing shoes could kick you in the head and kill you. Does that justify your knocking them down and removing their shoes? Those shoes represent as much a threat as that holstered weapon.
