Wow. Seven months for pointing a cap gun. Yeesh, I pointed cap guns at so many of my friends when I was a kid, I'd be dangling from a tree in Oz.
From the story: "The youth, who does not have a firearm's licence in any state, appeared for sentence on charges of assault, possessing an unregistered pistol and possessing an unauthorised prohibited firearm."
"Aggravated Stupidity" maybe. "Accidental Suicide By Cop" if the off duty officer had been armed. "Assault" maybe.
But, the other charges are bogus unless Australia requires toys to be registered and permitted.
