Laughable

True, but what's troubling and telling is there was no one in "America's Newsroom" knowledgeable enough to stop him right in his tracks and take him to task. [Read]

Back in my Air Force days, "shooting down aircraft" with an M-16 (not an "assault weapon") was actually covered in various Site Defense courses I attended. The basic procedure was for everyone (the assumption was that you'd have a squad at the very least) to lead the target (duck hunting, anyone?) by differing amounts depending on whether it was a "high performance" aircraft or helicopter, select full-auto fire, empty your magazines, and PRAY that you won the lottery before they wiped the hillside. Some REMF added it to the curriculum. The instructors considered it either a sick joke, or a last ditch effort to go out in a blaze of glory. No one expected it to be a useful tactic.

Maybe he can share a room in the booby hatch with his son. Don't they get a discount for a double?
