I think the sign in the local post office says something about "no guns without the appropriate permit" or something like that. I know it doesn't say "No guns; absolutely no exceptions".

The Second Amendment says nothing about "except in the post office". It's all the permit anyone needs, if they think a piece of paper is necessary to give them rights.

That doesn't mean the bad guys won't still kidnap or kill you for having a gun where you have every right to have one; bad guys do what bad guys do.
