The Wrong Question

Exigent Circumstances-what if it was your AO being searched? [More]
My immediate reaction was a "Gravity's Rainbow" moment.

Until we resolve who is doing the searching in "my AO" under Article. I. Section. 8., we haven't addressed the most fundamental problem. And until we do that, the standing army will feel unconstrained from doing any damn thing they please.

Best advice ever for a Knock and Talk:

1. Lock your Door.
2. Go to the window with your hands up.
3. "I don't open the door for police. If you need to talk, have your dispatcher call me. Or we can yell through the window like this. If you have a search warrant, here are my hands; kick the door in."

I've got the video demonstrating it here:

Advantages:

1. Non-confrontational.
2. No trumped-up charges like "assaulting a police officer" if you try to close the door on his foot stuck in the doorway.
3. Broken door = evidence of not consenting to a search if they don't have a warrant.
