The solution is not to no longer ask whether someone is a felon, but to remove laws such as those that treat possession of pocket knives as felonies and expunge the criminal records of those convicted of possession of pocket knives. Otherwise, we waste the time of those who conduct the interviews on the taxpayer's dime with job candidates that will never be hired for those jobs.

Convicted for felony murder by arson 20 years ago and recently paroled? I will not be hiring you. I will not be interviewing you. I do not want you anywhere near my workplace.
