Ohio gun group sues Oberlin for state preemption law violations

“OFCC previously asked Oberlin to repeal a city ordinance in conflict with ORC,” Witt elaborated. “Because Oberlin’s elected officials have failed to act reasonably and responsibly, OFCC now is seeking the aid of the courts to force Oberlin to comply fully with the Ohio Revised Code.” [More]
Today’s Gun Rights Examiner report notes some hoplophobes learning the hard way that if they don’t want a gunfight, they shouldn’t start one.

Oberlin's park was filled with gun-carrying demonstrators twice last month, with no Ill effects. Some of us even spent money in that ultra-liberal college town while there for the park rally. The city officials are fearful of imaginary threats. Laws should based on reality, not unwarranted fear and trembling. Especially after the city folks met "the enemy" and seemed to enjoy talking with us.

Each state should pass legislation similar to Florida, that puts teeth into going after local government for violating the states firearms preemption of authority:

Once that law was passed, many local authorities quickly rescinded their illegal local regulations. There is still much whining from local government.
