A "militia of one" also has no way to call for backup, coordinate operations, develop a support network (including that always-important place to run and hide), gather intel (one man is not a intel operation), or even do something as simple as conduct a half-assed ambush. Sorry, boss, but the bare minimum I'd want with me is three trusted men.

Four men make a fire team, can clear a house, conduct an ambush, provide covering fire for each other, and could at least handle a small firefight.

Yes, I know that these days the risk of informants and plants is high. That's not especially new, though.

Those of us who don't want to live alone, accomplish nothing, and die alone are doing things the old-fashioned way, and are finding like-minded friends, slowly (YEARS) turning that group of friends into a militia, and staying low-fuckin'-profile while we're doing it.

When things go hot, I'll have a few friends I trust with a rifle, and (hopefully) and extended, albeit less-trusted network of other friends where I can show up at 0215 without too many questions asked.
