Patron Saint of Stooge Media

Omidyar, by contrast, has opened his checkbook mostly to the Democratic Party. [More]
Because "legitimate media" just isn't "progressive" enough...

Who better to exert such powerful influence than  a guy whose flagship company mandates this policy?

Another "Shutdown" Benefit

Booting the UN ought to be a political litmus test.

Teach Your Children Well

That's quite some "enrichment exercise." So much for "zero tolerance" and "no bullying" policies. [More]

Can you imagine being Ken Derksen, and knowing your function in life is to be an excuse-making flack? Must be nice to be on that public school gravy train, where they can afford "public information officers."

The moron who planned this, the moron who approved it, the moron who did it and every moron who participated in it deserve to have the same thing happened to them and their families.

I was hoping it would also be a prosecutable crime, but NC statutes would appear to give them a pass on at least one count:
(g) This section shall not apply to any of the following:
(1)        A weapon used solely for educational or school-sanctioned ceremonial purposes, or used in a school-approved program conducted under the supervision of an adult whose supervision has been approved by the school authority.
I suppose it could also be argued a toy gun is not really a "weapon" for the purposes of the statute, but I still question whether or not assault and some sort of terrorism charges could be applied... and then there's that business about adult supervision...

And they wonder why the weakest ones snap.

The Biggest Lie

Why would auditing the Fed even be controversial for anyone with honest motives?

About That Mental Health Blanket Dragnet

By virtue of the fact that it's a net means it's mostly made of holes. [More]

Not that Wayne and NSSF and all the other proponents of throwing one group down to gain traction for the bus wheels will stop undermining the fact that "gun control" does not work.  Not the "enforce existing intolerable acts" kind, nor the "touch a gun get five years in jail" kind, or any of the other nonsense they endorse.

Anyone who can't be trusted with a gun can't be trusted without a custodian.  Some may not like that simple truth, but they can't invalidate it.

Until that truth is first acknowledged and then acted upon, any public policy response denying it will be certifiably nuts -- or calculatedly evil.

If We Must Die

Claude McKay's collectivist leanings notwithstanding (which he ended up disappointed with, converting to Catholicism toward the end of his life), there is still truth inspiring to freedom fighters in this work:

If We Must Die

If we must die, let it not be like hogs
Hunted and penned in an inglorious spot,
While round us bark the mad and hungry dogs,
Making their mock at our accursed lot.
If we must die, O let us nobly die,
So that our precious blood may not be shed
In vain; then even the monsters we defy
Shall be constrained to honor us though dead!
O kinsmen! we must meet the common foe!
Though far outnumbered let us show us brave,
And for their thousand blows deal one death-blow!
What though before us lies the open grave?
Like men we'll face the murderous, cowardly pack,
Pressed to the wall, dying, but fighting back!
Of course, all things considered, it may not be as romantic and poetic, but there is a preferred alternative...
