Bundy knew he was violating the law when he quit paying his fees back in 1993. And it wasn't the BLM that closed his alotment for grazing, it was Clark County when they bought out the permit he vacated. This isn't some land grab by the Fed, if anyone is grabbing land it's Bundy (see the "New Trespass Lands" in the court filings, and Bundy doesn't contest it and even acknowledges it). The guy is a crook, he thinks he has some unrevokable right to use any land around him as he wishes.
