Mr. Mencken Said It Best

"No one in this world, so far as I know ... has ever lost money by underestimating the intelligence of the great masses of the plain people."
The manipulators are counting on it.  [More]

The rags at the checkout counter are all focused on celebrity scandals and the like, instead of on issues free people must be aware of and conversant in. I see it every day checking Examiner results, where the trivial buries the substantive.  The "top 5" writers this morning focus respectively on: "Dog News, Celebrity Fitness and Health, Pet Rescue, Paranormal, Sex & Relationships."

Look what's trending!

Hosea comes to mind. That and the pH Factor.
