We're the Only Ones Accident-Prone Enough

...the officers were injured when one of their guns fired...  [More]
All by its own self.
To date police have not released the names of the officers involved.
What do you need to know that for? Besides, safety is their top priority!

Hey! They could charge the GUN with a crime, hold it indefinitely, and force its owner...uh, policeman-possessor to prove its innocence. If he can't do that, he would forfeit it to the police department!

Isn't that smart?

Apparently, there's simply no avoiding the "trigger-pulling phantom" for our betters.

"safety top priority" . . . he, he! THEIR safety! You and I better watch out! How many assaults, taserings, and murders are committed by our "protectors" on coerced so-called "wellness/welfare checks", alone, much less everything else. We're so cop-safe, nobody's really safe!! That friggin' video pic of militarized jackasses with guns drawn reeks of, ahem, safety! And, maybe I just know too much about (mala in se) actual victim crimes and "breaches of the king's peace" (mala prohibita) non-crimes, but . . . "drugs and weapons charges"??! . . . uh, OK, so where are the ACTUAL crimes that warrant all this jarheaded nonsense in the 1st place? Or, am I just over-thinking it, ahem? Knowing that the average uniformed meathead is just that, with an ave. IQ of 104, a tick above the ave. Joe Blow, just maybe it is THEY who are UNDER-THINKING it!

Iowa City (Iowa's answer to Berkeley) and their high quality cops.

"Police Officer Jeffrey Gillaspie, a three-year veteran of the force, pulled his 40-caliber semiautomatic service revolver..."

That's some informed reporting there by Bob Herbert of The New York Times!

It's those dang gun manufacturers - now if they just filled the trigger guard in with body filler this would never happen!
