Practical Reality

Seems to me if we can be trusted "when the team is up against it -- and the breaks are beating the boys," we can be trusted ALL the time. [More]

They're admitting they don't have the manpower to enforce their stupid, presumptuous rules. They're also admitting the act of being armed alone is not a threat -- it's how people conduct themselves.

So, why not every day for concealed carry without a permit? Why do Floridians need a Department of Agriculture issued Concealed Weapons Permit to carry a concealed weapon? Why is open carry of weapons illegal in Florida except in special circumstances? Are we half-mad and delude ourselves that in hurricanes many laws do not make sense so that they should not be applied? Why not every day, when we blue skies and sunshine? Do we then trust each other to do the right thing less?

Why, if we are following the U.S. Constitution which places restrictions on the powers of government, are we tolerating any level of government to openly infringe on our civil liberties?
