Faux Snooze did exactly the same thing. Witness referred to "rapid fire" and the plastic-haired anchor said, "So it was an automatic weapon." And thereafter always referred to it as such.
I can only imagine what these folks would say if they'd ever seen Jerry Miculik shoot a revolver. Wow, a full auto revolver!
