After clicking on a few of the suggested articles at the bottom, I can say that site has a LOT in common with The Onion. It appears to exist mainly to try to make Americans look stupid.
But they do reference a reliable local news article, and you found it on Wiki.

Yes, some solar energy is converted to electricity instead of heat. And when we build a house with a white steel roof to make the EPA happy, solar energy is reflected away.

Yes, plants don't like to grow in many places, like under carport roofs and under solar panels. If that's such a huge issue, why don't you tear down your house and plant vegetation in its place?

By all accounts it's legit. It's hard to believe people actually made the arguments they did, but people can be dumb.

The comments on pretty much every story quickly devolve into republican/conservative bashing. Progressives would never oppose clean energy projects.
