The Most Important News You'll Read Today

The results of my latest liver scan came back. Boil it all down and the odds are that I will belong to the vagaries of history in six months, perhaps more, perhaps less. [More]
I tried to call my friend. It was answered by what I assume was someone in a medical office, who told me "Mr. Vanderboegh will call you back."

I'm going to go pray for a bit.  Feel free to join me.

I'll be joining you in that prayer thing. I found you blog here a few years ago through SSI. Even though I've never met him, I do consider him an old friend.

We had lunch with him a couple of weekends ago. He was optimistic that the results would be positive. He seemed and sounded stronger than I remember.

He had amazing things to say about you. He's always been positive in his comments regarding you, but it was almost a eulogy for you and the friendship that you two have.

Unlike many in life, he can go to our maker with the confidence that he's served the Lord well and made us better for him having been here.

When I checked in on Mike’s Sipsey Street address and found his comments about his liver condition this statement made by the Apostle Paul immediately came to mind.

2 Timothy 4:6-8 NIV
“For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time has come for my departure. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day--and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.”
