Benefit of the Doubt

So why the hell did Ted endorse Grover?
A few comments under my Nugent article question whether or not it's fair to criticize him because he just might not be aware of the problems with Norquist. Seeing as how the piece centers on a recall-related endorsement, for Ted to be unaware means he deliberately avoided looking at the evidence and, deliberately acts instead as a willing, rubber-stamping Fairfax stooge.

I've written several posts and articles on the guy over the years, not all of them critical and some actually in his defense, and have consistently sent the links to his Twitter account. Here's a sample and a sample and a sample and  a sample and ... I could find plenty more, and I'll also be sending the link to this post to "the TedNugent.com team" that administers the account for him.

Plus it's not the first time Nugent has lent his name and endorsement to someone who didn't deserve it, for which there was plenty of information about why.  For him not to know this stuff means he's an oblivious dolt who has no business being considered a "gun rights leader" and an NRA director. Either that or he's perfectly aware, with all that implies.

So sorry, apologist[s]. He knows.

If you want to make "Can't we all get along?" excuses for him, go right ahead. Just know that some of us recognize them for what they are -- excuses, and not very good ones at that.
