Fourth Estate Fifth Columnists in Training

George Zimmerman puts murder weapon up for sale ... The cold-blooded murder of Trayvon Martin... [More]
It ain't "murder" if you're found not guilty. But hey, it's a college paper. And yeah, it's an "opinion" piece. Still, are there no standards?

They say there are:
The STAR values accuracy and works diligently to check facts before publication. However, if inaccuracies occur, we want  to know. Please report errors to the editor at star@sonoma.edu.
That's cover for the Opposite Day "progressives" running the show. There was demonstrably no diligence in that lazy screed, no editorial fact-checking. Why not?  They're supposed to be learning a craft under guidance. Is there no adult supervision?

I guess that would fall on Paul Gullixson, Faculty Adviser. He's got all the right "Authorized Journalist" creds.

So, do any ignorant biases color his work product? (And they say there are no stupid questions...):
Yes, I believe more universal gun regulation is needed, particularly on assault weapons, which have no place outside of combat zones. That’s the kind of thing that I hope will be discussed on Monday when Rep. Mike Thompson hosts a hearing in Sacramento on gun regulations. Many locals will be in attendance. Thompson, chairman of the House task force on preventing gun violence, is advocating for legislation that would prevent people on the federal government’s terrorist watch list from buying firearms. That seems like an easy first stop on this journey.
No, I guess there is no adult supervision after all. Meaning these kids are perfectly primed to follow in the footsteps of their subject matter knowledge-free mentors.

After all, look at how the "pros" do it.
