They count on us not having the wherewithal to fight back, and all go home at the end of the day with no skin off their noses. That should change. There should be personal accountability for their part in tyranny.

Funny. I received an email from the VA Republican party yesterday asking my to weigh in on which of several "legislative priorities" (presented in a helpful drop-down list) they should address in the upcoming session. My response (which cites the very same paragraph from the DOI) was as follows:
None of the above, actually. MY priority is that the Republican party return to its roots, embracing, endorsing, and ensuring smaller, less intrusive government at all levels. None of your proposed "priorities" address this simple preference. Our governments at all levels were founded with LIMITED powers for a reason. You may recall this from your High School civics class:
"HE HAS ERECTED A MULTITUDE OF NEW OFFICES, AND SENT HITHER SWARMS OF OFFICERS TO HARASS OUR PEOPLE, AND EAT OUT THEIR SUBSTANCE."
Stop doing that!
