Against All Better Judgment

He has been locked up at a juvenile detention facility, but in a month he turns 21. Judge Vernice Trease had the option of probation or a prison term. She opted for 5 years of the former, suggesting that she has a great home security system. [More]
I wonder if her judgment on this Somali "refugee" reflects why she "was appointed to the Third District Court in November 2006 by Gov. Jon M. Huntsman, Jr.," who in turn advocates:
  • H1B visa process is broken; we need immigrant brainpower. (Sep 2011)
  • Focus on fixing legal immigration as well as illegal. (Sep 2011)
  • End patchwork of state laws & just secure the border. (Aug 2011)
  • Vetoed repeal of college tuition for illegal immigrants. (May 2011)
  • Border fence repulses me; inconsistent with America's image. (May 2011)
  • 2008: GOP should tack to the middle on immigration. (Jan 2011)
Good thing this has nothing to do with that "single issue."

Right?

Otherwise, that "A" grade might need to be reconsidered.
