Look Past the Headline and the Lede

“The suspect was contacted and stated that he was asleep in his bedroom when he heard someone breaking into his residence. He pulled his gun out from under his bed and as soon as he saw someone coming into his room, he shot his gun.” [More]
It sounds to me like he was the victim. Not that you'd know it from the way that little factoid is buried in this agenda piece.

Ordering him disarmed under those circumstances and based on the accusations of his "troubled" attacker would have been a death sentence.

The woman who died broke into his home, possibly using the hammer to break the window.

The mother took out the RO, odd that.

Mommy dearest appears to have been part of the problem.

“If you can raise a shotgun after seeing a hammer, I’m pretty sure if you can see that hammer, you know who it is,” Carol Peppers said.

What a bunch of self-serving horses*t. If somebody breaks into my home while I’m asleep and has a hammer in her hand, I don’t care if she's Mother Theresa. Knowing who they are doesn’t tell you what they have in mind. Somebody with entirely pure intentions wouldn’t resort to breaking and entering in the first place.
