A Determined Minority

12.3% of Americans sometimes carry handguns, 5.4% of Americans carry most or all the time, & 2.4% carry all the time [More]
What good is it if you have it but don't actually have it?  And who would answer such a question for a stranger?

Although I guess I'm one to talk: I never carry. Hell, I don't even own a handgun.

Most of my away time is spent in a gun free zone. I carry everywhere else.

That implies that the percentage of people who always carry two or more firearms is pretty small.

I overheard this one day:

Q. What's the best defensive carry gun?

A. The one you have with you when you need a defensive carry gun.

If your choice is too [fill in the blank] to carry on a regular basis maybe you should re evaluate some things.

I cannot carry at my office, so I'm disarmed there, and during travel to/from. At all other times, if I'm awake, I'm armed.

Funny thing is, we have (unarmed) guards at the office. Has a discussion with one of them a while back. My comment was that should an active shooter event take place at the office, mine would be the second fat butt out the door following his. He agreed. Pretty sad.
