From the Department of Queer Complaints*

Gay Americans are arming themselves to stay alive. [More]
They need to be more vocal calling out the George Takei's of the world.

I was thinking of writing an article on this, but other priorities call and I've pretty much had my say over the years. Bottom line, tolerance means live and let live. It doesn't mean bending over or having it shoved in our faces or rammed down our throats. Besides, there's something tangentially related in the works that I've been trying to get more information on.

I don't know anyone rational who believes one person has a right to initiate force against another who is not attacking him, or who doesn't believe the victim of an attack has an unalienable right to defend himself. Nothing else, for the purposes of RKBA, is relevant.

* Remember this...?

That's nice, but do you think there's much chance we're going to solve the mess that's been caused by decades of 3rd World immigration into the US without initiating force against people who aren't physically attacking?

This is talking about personal crime situations. You're apparently talking about civil war and neutralizing threats. Depending on the scenarios you envision, you're gonna have to ask yourself what moral force options are presented based on the activities of the factions you have in mind and the nature of the threats they pose.

Florida law prohibits possession of firearms by those who are not LEOs in the area of an establishment used primarily for serving alcohol. It has been estimated that there were more than 320 patrons and staff in the Pulse Nightclub on the night of the shooting. We lack a breakdown of age and gender of the 320 there. Based on data on the overall adult population in Florida, at least 36 of that 320 would have a Florida Concealed Weapons Permit enabling them to defend themselves effectively against and armed individual.

The Florida Legislature needs to contract the list of prohibited places for carrying firearms. Gun Free Zones are dangerous places for the law-abiding.
