Grasping at Straws

The family of a woman shot to death in a 2014 Overland Park hate crime has settled a lawsuit against Walmart over the sale of a shotgun used in the crime. [More]
So what about PLCAA?  How was the clerk supposed to know a "straw purchase" was going down?
The suit alleges that Miller “initiated” the purchase, but then claimed he did not have any identification, and offered to have Reidle purchase the weapon, which he did.
If true, that's exceptionally stupid noting the environment gun dealers work in. If it's not true, then corporate lawyers just signaled circling jackals that bites are rewarded with flesh.
