Just Following "Commonsense Gun Safety" Recommendations

He was able to extract the pistol from the holster. He had time to shoot. He could not make the pistol fire. [More]
But doctors instruct us to keep ammunition separate ... and they're a lot better educated than us about everything, right?

I don't know the hunting regs in Florida, but I do know that up until a few years ago in Arizona, it was illegal to have a handgun on your person while you were hunting*. The rationale was that it was presumed you were out hunting whatever animal with an unapproved, "unsporting" caliber. AzCDL took care of getting that law changed, but other states may still have one like it that mandated that this fellow keep his handgun inoperable or inaccessible while out on the hunt. So it may not be a "gun safety" law at fault, but a Fudd Thud.
