Hooray for Hollywood!

The Democratic National Committee and members of Congress are turning to Hollywood for help with voter turnout and messaging ahead of the midterm elections and 2020 presidential campaign, quietly consulting with a group of actors, writers and producers here. [More]
Yo, FEC: Does this square with "in kind contributions"?

Still, who better to educate us on guns?

And where's Skip Coolzip when you really need him?

Nevada Alert

The Washoe County School District has decided they prefer dead children and teachers over self-defense. [More]

If some monster exploits their contemptible foolishness, these will be the useful idiots with blood on their hands.
I just got this notice and there's very little time to react, but if you're from there, read this, spread the word and do something to help.

11 years if convicted?

Every time I start to have doubts about capital punishment, something like this comes along and makes me long for the good old days.

Fear the Voting Dead

On Monday, the Supreme Court ruled 5-4 Ohio is allowed to purge its voting rolls of voters from the state’s registration records if they have not voted in a few years. [More]
How dare those hateful necrophobes disenfranchise the vitality-challenged!

By All Means, Put It in Context

“We have to look at the context of the situation,” Downer said. “His actions motivated people to react in a way that disrupted the peace.” [More]
Anybody see a net they could conceivably get caught up in?

And yeah, I get that this is Daily Progress. My assumption is the quote from the judge is accurate, and my questioning is of his rationale.

Making Lemonade Out of Lemons

Guns Save Life loves Chicago's gun buybacks. Three times in the past dozen years or so, the scrappy Illinois gun rights group has sold rusty junk to Chicago's taxpayers, then used the proceeds to send young people to an NRA summer shooting camp. Saturday, Guns Save Life pulled it off again. [More]
I'd like to see stuff like this get publicized in the mainstream, maybe with letters to the editor or social media replies to their "buyback" stories.

Armed and Informed?

GOC was disturbed to learn that both YouTube and INTUIT had sucker-punched the 2nd Amendment community... [More]
How is it possible to be sucker-punched by people we've known for years have it in for us unless you're oblivious? And who would be in today's climate?

Then there's this bit of hyperbole:
...2nd Amendment champion John Cox...
That's a strong word.

I'm afraid I'll need a bit more than "California has more than enough gun laws" and a vague reference to what sounds like a mental health blanket dragnet. I expect rah-rah superlatives from Fairfax. How about candid assessments and see if gun owners can figure out he probably won't be as big an oppressor as Newsom? Unless he finds it politically expedient to betray them...?

As his idea of for not publishing names and faces of killers, I get the sentiment and agree not to overdo it, but if it's discontinued altogether, we'll become entirely dependent on "official" sources with no way for independents check it out.

Everybody satisfied with Las Vegas...?

And as for the greatest threat, he  sounds pretty much like Grover.  Anybody at GOC care to take the challenge?

As long as our "leaders" ignore and avoid it, expect the California experience to solidify and spread.

News You Can Wipe With

“We don’t know for sure if there’s a connection to this effort by Russia..." [More]
So why not make a big story out of it?  Hell, all most people will form their "certainty" on is a headline anyway, and with the Russian manipulation angle, we've already got them primed to draw an automatic connection to Trump (voters) and dangerous "haters"...

All you need is a quotable "expert"...

Claims that Disarmament Benefits Women Leave Out Relevant Facts

Keep in mind the truism that for “progressives,” every day is Opposite Day, and the desperation of “women’s rights advocates” to keep “the weaker sex” defenseless becomes perfectly clear. [More]
The most fanatically enthusiastic enemies of women defending themselves are Opposite Day “progressive feminists.”

An Incomplete Picture

SafeHome.org confesses it took the definition of “hate” groups from the Southern Poverty Law Center... [More]
That's all I need to know.

Curious... I don't see "anti-Christian" or "anti-conservative" or "anti-gun owner" categories even though I see regular vitriolic hate directed at all three. Anybody not been called an "ammosexual" or received death wishes...?

And confirmation bias much, on two points with the way this response option for robbery reactions is couched...?
"I would try to kill the burglar with a weapon, even though I know that weapon may be used to kill me."
The good thing is, we learn Muslims don't commit any crimes:

Who are these people? I found a "who is" website registrant in New York but no corresponding corporate entity filing with the Secretary of State. It would be interesting to get a name or two for the actual "organization" and see what kind of political sympathies are revealed.
