Someone should tell that reporter that those are G36C select-fire carbine assault rifles, not just semi-autos.
The gendarmes start shooting French citizens it won't be long before some vintage WWII weaponry that's been tucked away for decades starts reappearing. We poke fun at the cheese eating surrender monkeys but they have a distinct history of being willing to fight each other. The French Revolution was no picnic.
