Etz Jacob is the oldest Shul in the Beverly-Fairfax area of L.A. It does not appear to be affiliated with ChaBaD Lubavitch, but, Like ChaBaD often does, currently caters predominantly to the Bucharian (Russian emigre) and Persian (post-Shah Iranian emigre) communities' needs.
I would say that the weltanshauung would be decidedly toward the American, patriotic, conservative, bent.
Observant Russian Jews tend to be VERY conservative, and bristle at anything that smells leftist.
Similarly, Persian Jews have a healthy aversion to an intrusive State.
That said, they are near the epicenter of Hollywood & the Television industry, and that may attenuate 2a orientation, somewhat.
It is a true "shande", that they appear to have hired an idiot to guard the shul.
