Knife crime has hit a new record high in England and Wales, rising 8% on the previous year new figures show. “The figures for police-recorded crime revealed there were 43,516 police-recorded offences involving a knife or sharp instrument, which is the highest since comparable records began in 2011,” reports Sky News. They have all those "anonymous turn-in" buckets. They've removed all the points to their kitchen and dining knives. They won't sell so much as a plastic spork to anyone under age 18. They've confiscated scissors, pruning shears, and box cutters, and arrested and criminally charged their owners.

And that's not saying anything of what happens to the owners of what anyone in America would call a "knife".

All I can say is, thank God nobody has guns over there, or crime rates would be hitting record highs and people would be getting hurt!

I asked am Englishman man on another board how those gun bans were working out for him over there since they didn't seem to have any effect on their murder and crime rate.

All he could do was bluster on about the difference between the U.S. and U.K rates.
I had fun reminding him that wasn't the question I was asking him.
