And an Even Dandier Second Term

Lou Dobbs Concerned About Who’s Advising Trump: If He ‘Forgets Who His Base Is… It’s Gonna Be a Dandy of an Election’ [More]
Here's a thought: If he does win in spite of that, what's to restrain him?

Here We Go Again

NEARLY ALL OF MEXICO'S GUN VIOLENCE IS COMMITTED WITH ILLEGAL FIREARMS COMING FROM U.S., OFFICIALS SAY [More]
This is where we came in...

I don't suppose the border has anything to do with this...

That's one of the problems those crowing about the disparity don't get.

Big Thoughtless

In Switzerland, gun ownership is high but mass shootings are low. Why? [More]

We're the Only Ones Trained and Capacitated Enough

Never go full Ken Reid. [Watch]

When asked about statistics showing killings occur in "gun-free zones," he replies by calling for a ban on "these AR47 ... these AR ... these AK47s."

He goes on to include all defensive gun uses:
"I don't think regular citizens have the training and the capacity to do what's necessary."
And he would ban guns for all private citizens.

Anybody see anything that looks too hard to get a low "B" on twice a year?

Although in fairness, I've never emerged from training equipped to do this.

We're the Only Ones Checking Out Enough

For the eighth time this year, a New York City police officer has died by suicide... [More]
Isn't that one of the main reasons we're told police should be the "Only Ones" with guns?

Anybody think the higher rates are due to superior trustworthiness and training?

So Sue Her for Libel

She claimed in a tweet Friday that the Ferguson, Missouri, teen was “murdered by a white police office” five years ago. But President Obama’s Justice Department, confirming a grand jury’s decision not to indict, found officer Darren Wilson acted in self-defense. [More]
He should get plenty wampum.

We're the Only Ones Preferential Enough

Of course, when it comes time to sign for a concealed-gun authorization, the buck stops with Sheriff Smith. And this wouldn’t be the first time she’s come under fire for the way she doles out the coveted permits, or gives preferential treatment to people with clout. [More]
That's not longtime SOP?

And not just in CA?

Comparing El Paso to Juárez Gives Insights into Effectiveness of ‘Gun Control’

That’s what Ebrard and his “monopoly of violence” co-conspirators on this side of the border are really after, for U.S. “gun laws” to be more like Mexico’s. But unlike with immigration laws, they want disarmament to be enforced — and of course with no corresponding duty to protect. [More]
Coming soon to a sanctuary city near you. If you want to see what they call "gun violence" go through the roof, leave the "solution" to Opposite Day "progressives."

Blind Pig Finds Acorn

The following email from WarOnGuns Correspondent Michael G merits sharing:
After their initial panic, they tell us Red Flag laws violate rights and don't work, that universal background checks violate rights and are unconstitutional, that assault weapons bans haven't worked... Peter may have denied Christ three times, but it was still only a single night and he was ever faithful after that.  Maybe NR could grow a spine if they took some of their own advice.
It's more a matter of different authors being given a forum there. The French Mistake still sounds like steam escaping.

Nice Court You Got Here. Shame if Something...Happened to It

The senator predicted a ruling against the City would inflame progressive efforts to pack the high court. [More]
So Sheldon Whitehouse is trying to extort them into ruling his way?

Besides, it's not like that won't happen regardless of what SCOTUS does if the Demoncrats take it all.

'Wares of War'

U.S. Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-NY, announced his legislation on Sunday to require FBI permission before anyone except law enforcement could buy what he termed “sophisticated body armor,” setting a bar that would require a clear purpose, such as an occupational requirement, for the buyer to seek the safety equipment. [More]
You know, "Only Ones." The rest of you we want to keep vulnerable.

It's been tried before.

Be a hoot if he unintentionally banned these...

Epstein dead or alive? Body photos raise questions [More]
This is like watching an old"Mission Impossible" episode. If true -- and since when do features like nose and ear shapes lie? -- it means he had a secured "In the event of my death" release prepared and ready to go.

And it means a lot more than that.

Commonsense Metaphor Safety Laws

DeWine's Infringement Initiative

Q&A on Gov. DeWine's Safety Initiative [More]
First, I wouldn't call it that.

Good on BFA for opposing registration-enabling and red herring edicts.

That said, as far as "enforce existing gun laws" goes, I've always equated that with "enforcing existing Intolerable Acts." And as far as enhanced "felon with a gun" punishments, that net could catch those who will not comply, or alternatively, act as a flimsy sieve to allow those who can't be trusted without a custodian to remain predatory dangers stalking among us.
