Meanwhile, Across the Pond in Piers Morgan Paradise

A British cutlery firm is offering a solution for the rash of knife crimes plaguing Great Britain: knives that have square ends. [More]
The rounded ones that have been pout there for over 10 years didn't work? Those inclined to cut and run are loath to shell out $20 for a set of four?

In the annals of stupid ideas, I'm trying to think of one that beats this.

If you put an edge on the square end, isn't that a katana point? Just like sharpening a round end is a viking tip.

Obvious next step is a law demanding that everyone in the country buy some. No shortage of precedent, even when only one (or even zero) entity offers the technology: Smart guns, microstamp guns, Obamcare insurance…

But wait… aren’t screwdrivers also square-tipped?

Oh oh. And I hear that prison toothbrushes aren’t tipped at all.
