Since I started writing the Gun Rights Examiner column, I was routinely at the top of the list for the city I represented, and generally near the top of the list for the "politics" category.
This is the first time I've made it into the top five for all Examiners nationwide, but there's no guarantee it will hold throughout the day.
Please do what you can to help me continue to make this column a success. Posting by forum regulars is one of the most helpful things I request, followed closely by sharing links with your friends.
I wanted to share this positive development with those of you I harangue every day, to just provide some evidence that this can make a difference.

"Now You Can Own a Piece of American History!"
Some bright entrepreneur is offering Barack Obama coins. I guess people are into all kinds of collectibles, but good grief...Today's Gun Rights Examiner column explores perceived vs actual value.
...But I do have a question regarding fundamental fairness:
Why did the feds raid Sunshine Mint and steal all their Liberty Dollars? [More]

Any WarOnGuns regular who wants to help this effort out by posting links to these Examiner columns on forums you frequent, please take the initiative.
Down the Hatch
One of the most prominent conservatives on the Judiciary panel, Sen. Orrin Hatch (R., Utah), has already said he plans to support the nominee. [More]How do you write the preface to this and then come to that conclusion?
Of course, Hatch is the same guy who thinks "dual-citizen" and "pal" Arnhole deserves a shot at president, enough so to draft "what he hopes will become the twenty-eighth amendment:
'A person who is a citizen of the United States, who has been for 20 years a citizen of the United States, and who is otherwise eligible to the Office of President, is not ineligible to that Office by reason of not being a native born citizen of the United States.' "How is it we give such as Hatch power over us, and represent him to gun owners as a friend without including the total picture?
Leading the Charge
No doubt some folks will say this is not enough. [More]Ya think?
Particularly when one of their big complaints is he doesn't support enforcing existing federal gun laws enough?
Gosh, citing Richmond and Philadelphia and Project Exile as gun control success stories.
Why didn't I think of that?
Thing is, this is big news. What a gift for the antis!
Here all this time we've been saying gun control doesn't work, even citing stuff like
“the US National Academy of Sciences … failed to identify any gun control that reduced violent crime, suicides or gun accidents.” This was “from a review of 153 journal articles, 99 books, 43 government publications, and some original empirical research. The same conclusion was reached in 2003 by the US Centers for Disease Control …”and along come the Lairds of Fairfax to cut off criticism by cutting our legs out from under us with a little last-minute (blundering or sabotage?) under the guise of getting involved.
Good grief. I'd just as soon they'd have stayed out of it.
No doubt some folks will say this is too much.
The Whole Story
Some Wyoming lawmakers want to make certain that people accused of misdemeanor domestic violence realize that pleading guilty would cost them their federal gun rights. [More]Yeah, that would be kind of nice. You have to wonder what kind of total d*** would be against that.
Because as we keep seeing, ignorance of the edict du jour is no excuse...

We're the Only Ones Arresting Enough
Berlin police officers arrested each other as robbers made off with the cash after holding up an off licence. [More]I'm an "Only One!" N'yuk, N'yuck!
C'mere, you!
Woob-woobwoobwoobwoob...
All that's missing from this "Only Ones" short is the pie fight.

A "Law-Abiding" Gun Owner
The man arrested at Los Angeles International Airport with a trunk full of guns and nearly 1,000 rounds of ammunition said Saturday that he is a law-abiding weapons enthusiast who had no idea he might be breaking the law. [More]There will always be one more "i" to dot, one more "t" to cross. And, of course, "ignorance of the law is no excuse."
Unless it's this law, and you happen to be one of those supposedly bound by it...
We'll never be "law-abiding" gun owners as long as the right of the people to keep and bear arms is infringed.
And in case anyone doesn't get it, that's the way our enemies want it at this stage of the game.

We're the Only Ones Proving Being Disarmed is Safer Enough
The Orleans Parish coroner said Grimes was shot 14 times, including 12 times in the back...See? What more proof do you need?
Family members said they want to know why officers descended on a young man with no criminal record, who graduated from one of the most prestigious high schools in the city...
Grimes did have a gun. His family and the lawyer, Jenkins, said he had a legal permit to carry the weapon. [More]
Forget his assailants were plainclothes officers, indistinguishable from street thugs.
If only the "Only Ones" had guns, this wouldn't have happened.
Right?

A Free Market Solution
It makes the Indianapolis Gun and Knife Show that I just attended look like a garage sale. [More]
I remember posting a video like this some time ago. Oh well, if it's a duplicate, it's worth watching again, and I'm sure it will be new for some of you.
The gun-grabbers really have no idea the kinds of responses desperation fosters, do they?

We're the Only Ones Opening Fire Enough
What if you or I just decided to pull a gun and shoot an unarmed civilian who posed no mortal threat to us? The police would take every opportunity to portray us as violent threats to society as they tracked us down and locked us up. Yet the police are often allowed to apply lethal force in response to detainees who simply question their authority or disobey orders. [More]That's why they're the "Only Ones" and we're not!
This Day in History: January 12
Dear Sir: I have yours of the 9th. inclosing the proceedings of the Court Martial who set upon Strang. In my Opinion the sentence should be confirmed and executed.
[Note:Daniel Strang. He was tried at Peekskill, N.Y., on January 4 for being a spy and enlisting men for the British, and was sentenced to be hanged. A copy of the proceedings is in the Washington Papers.] [More]
