Speaker Nancy Pelosi: "I have concerns about some of the language that is being used because I saw ... I saw this myself in the late '70s in San Francisco," Pelosi said, choking up and with tears forming in her eyes. "This kind of rhetoric is just, is really frightening and it created a climate in which we, violence took place and ... I wish that we would all, again, curb our enthusiasm in some of the statements that are made." [More]If she's talking Dan White, he was a democrat...

About that San Francisco Political Violence in the Late '70s...
Meanwhile, Across the Pond in Sarah Brady Paradise...
The single mother, her daughter and teenage son, Anthony, had endured ten years of being virtual prisoners in their own home as a gang of up to 16 “street kids” tormented them for simply “existing”. [More]It's like the whole damn country is some sort of evil laboratory experiment designed to see what it takes to drive the test subjects into destroying themselves...

What's the Word For...?
Switzerland is grappling with a question and it’s a loaded one: should its citizens be allowed to keep military rifles at home? [More]I'd like to coin a new term for subversive punk hoplophobes, something along the lines of "quisling" for traitorous collaborators.
I think we ought to call them "schneblis."
Be nice to see that catch on...

We're the Only Ones on Work Release Enough
The Precinct Project
Here’s the point: the Party does have good conservatives in it who are willing to take positions of Party leadership, but they won’t get elected into those positions unless the Party has a solid majority of conservatives in the PC ranks. As a PC, you can devote as much or as little time to other PC tasks such as helping to get out the vote on election day and informing the voters in your precinct about the best candidates, how best to vote on initiatives, etc. Politics matter. Look at the outcome of the last election. But to be able to vote for the Party leadership, a conservative registered Republican voter must be a PC. It’s that simple. [More]For those of you who are politically inclined...
If you're not, it doesn't hurt to spread the word to those who are.
We're the Only Ones Exempted Enough
"We have a blanket policy to use the exemption in all cases," said Jody Donaldson, a spokesman for the Alexandria Police Department. "I can’t think of a single example where we wouldn’t use the exemption." [More]And did Lt. Patrick Donahue really say "In the interest of fairness..."?
Honest and fair men don't fear the light. The only plausible explanation is Alexandria "Only Ones" are afraid of having their activities reviewed by We the People.
Why would that be?
And why would anyone trust them with anything, let alone guns?

MSNBC: Most Subversive Network Bashes Constitution
So Chris Matthews thinks people expressing their political views deserves to be shunned and beaten up? And Drew Westen demands a 1-mile radius traveling citizen disarmament circle to follow the president around wherever he goes? Plus anyone who's not a national socialist is a racist, even if we're not aware of it? [More]
And we have to be "called out" for it?
Go ahead. Call us out.
"80% of Americans" may indeed be ignorant enough to fall for this. The important segment to keep in mind are the 3% who are not.

We're the Only Ones "Stone Walls Do Not a Prison Make" Enough
A corrections officer at Pollock's U.S. Penitentiary has been arrested and stands accused of agreeing to smuggle a gun and drugs into the prison for an inmate in exchange for $50,000, according to court documents. [More]I debated giving this one an "Only Ones" title, because "Meanwhile, Behind the Bars in Sarah Brady Paradise..." also works well on a couple different levels.

Would Alarm Have Given Annie Le a Chance?
One gets the feeling Ms. Brown has never gone one-on-one with an enraged male over twice her size who has murder on his mind. And it doesn't seem to occur to her that if she has time to depress a keypad, she'll have time to depress something else. It's just that that flash she mentions won't transmit a photograph. [More]Today's Gun Rights Examiner column recommends choosing the right tool for the job--or at least having the right to choose your tool. Hopefully, critics will manage to forgo all that seething hostility this time--or not. It's actually kind of fun watching raging loons melt down.

This Day in History: September 18
Revolutionaries under the command of Colonel Thomas Polk, with 200 cavalry from the colonies of North Carolina and Virginia have secured the Liberty Bell and begin a journey to evacuate the Bell from Philadelphia and secure it 60 miles north, in Allentown. September 18, 1777, the entourage and armed escort arrive in Richland Township (Quakertown). [More]
