Down the Hatch

Hatch: Tea Party movement threatening to tear GOP apart [More]
'Bout damn time. Keep tearing.

Particularly when they offer us fascist creeps like this...

We don't need you. You need us.

Do what we say or become extinct. We'll still have guns. (I do hope whenever you hear someone say how we must make this or that political choice or we'll lose our guns!!! you take a moment to publicly slap the weasel for being a dullard and a coward, and let him know that he may, but yours they're going to have to work for.)
But one thing Hatch won't do, he said, is vote against Obama appointees for partisan reasons.
Not for partisan reasons, you dope. For principled ones.

O brother, where art thou?

Half of the Equation

A British company is cashing in on security concerns around the World Cup and is marketing "stab proof" vests... [More]
You realize what this means?

All we have to do now is issue killers stab-proof knives and we can all relax.

You Americans with your guns...

We're the Only Ones Non-Destructive Enough

Documents have surfaced regarding an ongoing investigation being conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) involving the disappearance of approximately 500 firearms from Cleveland Police Department.

...The owner of Sportman’s Outlet, Gary Lee, met with investigating officers in November 2009, per the documents, and told them that Kelley had advised him he “could keep any firearms that he wanted from the CPD’s destruction orders rather than destroying them.” [More]
Nice to see he's still out there doing raids in his "Only One" capacity...

A Matter of Interpretation

In a 1997 book, "A Matter of Interpretation," Justice Scalia wrote that he viewed "the Second Amendment as a guarantee that the federal government would not interfere with the right of the people to keep and bear arms."

Yet, this next passage gives court watchers some pause. "Of course," Justice Scalia continued, "properly understood, it is no limitation upon arms control by the states."[More]
I'm afraid William Rawle had a different view...and he was in a position to know...

Leave it to a charlatan to represent clear meaning as being subjective.

“These guys in black guns and they were on the side of the roads, trying to stay out of view. I was in a position where I could see them..." [More]

What's Really Nuts

Ala. slayings accused likely insane [More]
And her husband and no one at the university noticed that? And they left her free to roam among a populace mandated defenseless?

The thing is, they had been warned. And the university's response?
"Podila just sort of blew us off"
It would appear she returned the favor. Ironic.

And this business that you're not "allowed" to defend yourself is stark raving mad.

We're the Only Ones Counseled Enough

The Broward Sheriff's Office deputy who left his assault rifle in his car has been counseled for failing to follow proper procedures, according to records released Thursday. [More]
See, if he'd have participated in a wrong house raid and shot an armed homeowner with it, that would have been "proper procedure."

Some of you may take me to task for this, but I don't think a disparity of penalties for what would happen if you or I had done the same thing applies here enough to make this a true "Only Ones" story.

Why? Because of this:
"Patrol rifles will not be stored in a vehicle during off-duty hours," according to the Sheriff's Office policy manual on rifle storage. The words "will not" are in bold type.
See, if it had happened to you or me, it would have been classified an "assault rifle".

There's a big difference, you know...

Beware of Geeks Bearing Gifts

Lower Merion School District officials brag that they give every one of their 1,800 high-schoolers laptop computers to "ensure that all students have 24/7 access to school-based resources."

Instead, they ensured they got a 24/7 sneak peek into students’ private lives by secretly monitoring webcams embedded in the laptops to spy on teens and their families at home, according to a federal, class-action lawsuit filed this week in Philadelphia. [More]

Teaching children to be inmates instead of citizens, of course...it's all part of a plan.

And surprise, surprise--the government "gives" you something and there are strings attached.

Me, I'm hoping an analysis of what they spied on will disclose some sexual activity, and they can be prosecuted for viewing child porn.

If you really want to be disgusted, look at the poll results where about 6% either support it or aren't morally developed enough to object.

GRE Round Up

There's some good stuff being turned out. I hope you're availing yourself of it, and importantly, sharing these links.

A common complaint is media bias and absence of representation for "our side."

These people work hard to change that and ask for nothing from those of us their labors serve other than to help spread the word. I hope no one thinks that's too much to ask.

'Conservative' Bill O'Reilly Supports Gun Confiscation in Emergencies

The Founders would be doing a facepalm. [More]
Today's Gun Rights Examiner column follows up on Stewart Rhodes' appearance on The O'Reilly Factor.

"Conservative" Bill really is an authoritarian control freak who doesn't show the slightest understanding of the Constitution or the Bill of Rights.

Tell a friend? Especially if they think this self-serving fraud is some sort of voice of common sense...?
